Mission Statement

Our goal is to show Mercyhurst University’s role in the Civil Rights Movement that occurred within the United States during the 1960’s. We hope to educate interested individuals and our peers on the efforts made by those fighting for equal rights. It is our help current students see the efforts made by those that have come before them and understand that these events did not occur as long ago as assumed. We will then bridge this connection by including information on how students today are still advocating for Civil Rights by taking inspiration from the past.
